Working across textiles, paint, paper and unconventional materials, she continually pushes boundaries and allows her work to evolve through experimentation.

Jacki’s practice is an interest in people and the emotional connection within a place, how art can change the feeling, and how it can contribute to the story or narrative of a space .

Her latest body of work, Lucent Strata, represents a significant breakthrough, opening a new direction where art moves towards architecture, interiors, design, light and spatial experience.

LUCENT STRATA

I make art to find the unexpected, to illuminate the in between. I am constantly called to explore, to feel, to create and to see what might happen when materials are pushed beyond their expected boundaries.

Lucent Strata is a breakthrough in my practice. Working with specialised paper, I layer ink, wax, resin and organic marks, allowing light to move through the work and reveal the unexpected.

This body of work Lucent Strata, is beginning to move beyond the traditional artwork on a wall, I want the work to become part of its environment — to respond to light, shift with perspective and invite an emotional connection.

Art, for me, is not simply something to look at.
