Dense clusters build into peaks before dropping away, creating a rhythm that suggests tremors, vibrations and the shifting forces beneath the earth’s surface. It was within artistic circles that Volker’s initial sculptural ideas took form, even leading to commissions such as the work he created for Munich Airport. Since his move to Aotearoa in 2001, Volker has directed his creative energy towards abstract pieces, preferring to give new life to recycled materials. Volker’s artistic thinking centres around nets, grids, orders, and the interplay of mathematical code like structures, reflecting his philosophy of extracting modules from a given environment and rearranging them to achieve his own distinctive aesthetic. This unique approach has garnered Volker recognition through various exhibitions and accolades, including the Waiheke Small Sculpture Prize in 2021 and the Art in the Park Sustainability Award in 2022.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Volker Hawighorst","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":59918743208222,"sku":"11821","price":2250.0,"currency_code":"NZD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0961\/6674\/0254\/files\/SeismicTrace.png?v=1790898658","url":"https:\/\/www.artehaus.co.nz\/products\/seismic-trace-5-volker-hawighorst","provider":"Arte Haus Gallery","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
