Cast Glass Swallow (Warou) — Wall Sculpture by Luke Jacomb Studio
Graceful in flight and quietly elegant, the Warou is often seen perched in flocks, skimming over wetlands and coastal edges with rapid, fluid movements. Arriving in noticeable numbers with the first warm days, they’re widely regarded as harbingers of spring. While migratory across much of the South Pacific, Aotearoa’s Warou populations appear content to remain here year-round, making our skies and shorelines their permanent home.
This cast-glass Warou captures the bird’s slender form and poised stillness, offering a refined sculptural moment from New Zealand’s coastal and wetland landscapes. Displayed individually or as part of a larger flock, it brings a sense of lightness and seasonal change into any space.
