In te ao Māori, the Pūriri moth is regarded as a spiritual messenger — a bridge between the physical and spiritual realms. This sculptural work honours that connection through layered form, luminous colour and careful craftsmanship.

Laser cut from bamboo plywood and finished in matte UV-protected paint, each moth is built from multiple hand-assembled layers, creating a captivating three-dimensional effect. The interplay of shadow and neon colour allows the work to shift subtly throughout the day as light moves across its surface.

Designed as a focal point, the pair commands presence while still retaining a sense of lightness and movement.
