Kate is a contemporary artist based on Auckland’s North Shore. She has painted throughout her life and began painting professionally in 2022.
Her work is a contemporary take on landscapes with a lens shaped by her interest in composition, colour, contrast, and philosophical reflection.
Particularly drawn to the quiet power of remote places, Kate often paints bold, atmospheric scenes featuring lone houses nestled within vast and dramatic terrains. While grounded in the landscape tradition, her paintings evoke spaces beyond time or place, exploring timeless emotional and experiential themes.
For Kate, painting is a way to offer solace and strength through visual expression, each work created with the intention of grounding the viewer and reconnecting them to a sense of stillness that is often lost amongst our busy lives.
