Blue Cascade Vase — Peter Black | Rivelin Pottery
Dimensions (approx) 12cm H, Base 8.5cm, Rim diameter 3cm
Handcrafted in the Waikato by Peter Black, Blue Cascade Vase is a striking wheel-thrown vase defined by its deep, moody palette and dramatic movement of glaze.
A glossy charcoal-black surface wraps the softly tapered form, while a vivid cascade of icy blue, white and earthy bronze flows from the neck. The glaze breaks and pools as it travels across the clay, creating an organic, almost geological effect reminiscent of water cutting its path through dark rock.
Beautiful with a single stem or small arrangement, the vase has a sculptural presence that also allows it to stand confidently as an object in its own right.
The interplay of glaze, clay and kiln ensures that no two pieces are ever exactly alike. Each vase develops its own variations in colour, texture and glaze movement, making every piece an individual work of functional art.
Please note: Every Peter Black ceramic vase is individually wheel-thrown and kiln-fired. Variations in glaze, colour, texture and surface pattern are a natural part of the ceramic process, making each piece beautifully unique. The vase you receive may differ slightly from the images shown, reflecting the individuality and craftsmanship of handmade pottery.
