Handcrafted in the Waikato by Peter Black, Earthy Canister celebrates the rich, organic beauty of reactive glazing. Layers of warm cream, bronze, copper and subtle green-blue tones flow across the surface, creating a beautifully weathered finish reminiscent of aged metal, stone and the natural landscape.
Individually wheel-thrown, the canister has a simple, gently tapered form topped with a contrasting dark lid. The restrained shape allows the glaze to take centre stage, with areas of mottled colour, metallic warmth and natural kiln variation giving each piece its own distinctive character.
