Listen Until You Hear, Look Until You See | Diptych

Oil & Acrylic on Canvas
42cm x 59cm framed x 2

Created alongside its counterpart Listen Until You Hear, this contemplative landscape is an invitation to deeper perception.

Through soft tonal shifts and layered atmosphere, Look Until You See explores the idea that clarity is not immediate — it reveals itself slowly, when we are willing to truly observe. The work feels expansive yet grounded, offering subtle depth that unfolds the longer you sit with it.

Emma Davie’s intuitive approach allows space within the canvas — space for reflection, for memory, for stillness. Rather than directing the viewer toward a specific place, the painting encourages a quieter act of noticing.

paired with Listen Until You Hear, the dialogue deepens. One work invites attention through sound; the other through sight. Together, they create a balanced and meditative duo — gently reminding us to slow down, reconnect, and rediscover what so often goes unseen and unheard.

Emma’s process is as important as the finished work. Marks are made, erased, reworked, and left partially revealed, with traces of experimentation becoming integral to the composition. These layered surfaces create depth and complexity, encouraging multiple points of entry and a slow engagement with texture, colour, and form.
