Celebrate Aotearoa’s native Mātātā / Fernbird with a hand-crafted cast glass wall sculpture by Luke Jacomb Studio. A secretive little bird traditionally found amongst wetlands, rushes and dense vegetation, the Mātātā is reimagined here in luminous cast glass, capturing the character and movement of this distinctive native species.
With wings outstretched in flight, the sculptural form catches and refracts the light beautifully, bringing depth, colour and a sense of movement to the wall. Display individually as a striking feature or combine with other Luke Jacomb glass birds to create a unique flock.

While we do hold stock of some colours and bird styles (noted as in stock), with such a large range of beautiful colours it’s impossible to stock them all.
For made-to-order artisan pieces such as Luke Jacomb cast glass, please allow 4–6 weeks for production and finishing before dispatch. We’ll keep you up to date on progress, and when your artwork is ready for dispatch, a tracking notification will be sent to you.
