The details...
Full of movement and atmosphere, Night Swimming evolved intuitively from an initial idea of a self-portrait with daisy chains into something altogether more fluid and immersive.
Swirling forms create an almost dreamlike vortex, blurring the distinction between night sky and water, while a sense of rhythm and movement runs through the work. There is an energy to the painting that hints at the music playing as it was created — spontaneous, expressive and slightly hypnotic.
