The details...
A playful glass interpretation of the unmistakable dachshund form, Schnitzel is part of Tom Barter’s Folded Paper series.
Inspired by the simple geometry of origami, the familiar silhouette is translated into cast glass, with angular folds and facets catching and refracting the light. The transparency of the glass brings another dimension to the form, shifting in intensity as the piece is viewed from different angles.
Created using the lost-wax casting process, Schnitzel transforms the fleeting nature of folded paper into an enduring sculptural object — full of character, colour and personality.
