Crafted from layered Perspex, each piece shifts throughout the day as light filters through the translucent acrylic, creating ever-changing reflections, depth and vibrant colour.
Inspired by the clean lines and optimism of retro design, Kayla transforms Perspex into contemporary artworks that blur the line between sculpture and design. Joyful, graphic and full of movement, her work brings colour, personality and a unique sense of light to any interior.
About Kayla:
Kayla Bacon is an artist living in a small beach town called Raglan, New Zealand. Influenced by the light-hearted and funky qualities of 1970s wallpaper design, her work looks towards social change and action by reflecting on the past.
Deepening her inquiry into geometric abstraction, her work plays with colour and illusion. Combining digital and analogue practices, she creates 3D wall-hanging paintings that manipulate perception and produce senses of movement.
