Starlight

Starlight by Isaac Weston brings together the raw beauty of copper with the delicate detail of something much more familiar and domestic.

The circular copper surface has been transformed through a rich, naturally expressive patina, creating layers of turquoise, verdigris and earthy copper tones. Across the surface, traces of pattern have been created using a vintage embroidered tablecloth, transferring its intricate textile detail into the metal and giving the work an unexpected sense of history and softness.

Bold gold-toned lines sweep across the surface, contrasting with the organic patina beneath and bringing structure and movement to the composition.

The result is a work full of contrasts — metal and textile, strength and delicacy, geometry and organic imperfection — with a surface that reveals more detail the closer you look.
