Handcrafted in the Waikato by Peter Black, Storm Deep Bowl is defined by its dramatic, atmospheric glaze and generous open form. Layers of charcoal, smoky grey, burnished bronze and subtle blue-green move across the surface, creating a richly textured finish reminiscent of a stormy, changing sky.
Individually wheel-thrown, the bowl has a deep, gently flared silhouette that gives the piece a strong yet beautifully balanced presence. The reactive glaze flows and settles differently with each firing, creating intricate markings, metallic highlights and unexpected shifts in tone across both the interior and exterior.
Beautiful as a centrepiece, fruit bowl or simply displayed on its own, Storm Deep Bowl has a sculptural quality that allows the glaze and form to take centre stage.
